Rod Pace
President / CEO
Rod holds a mining engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines and has been working in the mining industry for over 27 years. The last 10 of these he has specialized in mine start-ups. His experience at team building will create a work culture that includes safety awareness, asset protection and good environmental practices while creating long term, high paying jobs for the local community.
Jamie Sturgess
Vice President, Sustainable Development
Jamie holds a master and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California. He has more than 25 years of industry experience in the areas of environmental, regulatory, pollution and project management. His presence on this project highlights and strengthens Rosemont’s commitment to minimize the project’s environmental impact.
Lance Newman
Vice President, Project Development
Lance holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science with Honors from Rhodes University in South Africa. His career has spanned over 22 years focusing on mineral concentrating, smelting, refining and project management. Lance’s diverse experience in operations planning and management will ensure a successful project completed on-time and within budget.
Kathy Arnold
Director, Environmental and Regulatory Affairs
Kathy has 20 years of active experience in the mining industry. Her areas of expertise include environmental compliance, permitting, regulatory analysis and environmental engineering. She holds a masters and three bachelor of science degrees from Montana College of Mineral Science & Technology. Her advanced education and experience make her a valuable asset to the Rosemont team.
Fermin Samorano
Mine Manager
Fermin is a graduate of the University of Arizona’s Mining Engineering program. He is a skilled engineer with 12 years of ore production experience in the US and South America. With a strong background in mine planning, project and asset oversight, Fermin’s practical management style will be a distinctive asset to the Rosemont operation.
Scott Walston
Manager, Purchasing and Supply
Scott, a graduate of the University of Phoenix, brings more than 22 years of procurement and supply chain management experience to Rosemont with an expertise in procurement and contracting strategy. With a commitment to supporting the local community, Scott will oversee the expenditure of several hundred million dollars in goods and services throughout Pima County and the State of Arizona.
Dennis Fischer
Project Site Coordinator
Dennis Fischer, a Tucsonan and graduate of the University of Arizona, has most recently been responsible for coordinating all activities on site including core and water drilling, dirt work and reclamation.
Jeff Cornoyer
Exploration Geologist
Jeff joined the Rosemont team in 2006 and has a degree in Geological Sciences from Arizona State University. He has been instrumental in drilling management and planning, drill core logging, geologic mapping, database management and resource modeling. Jeff is looking forward to helping the project progress into an operating mine.
